Debating is a necessary skill in the constantly evolving landscape of views and opinions. It is also this skill that senior students effectively used to put forth their stance on global issues at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education [MAHE] Polemics.
The 7th edition of the inter-school debate competition was held on the 7th of June at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai, from 8am. to 2pm. After the inaugural session, the event began in full swing as participants were randomly pitted against each other with the help of chits for the preliminary rounds. Leena Ansari and Tanushri Menon of Grade 12 represented The Millennium School, Dubai at the event and, funnily enough, were opponents in the preliminary round. All debates in this round were on the prepared topic "Technology is Creating More Jobs than it Eliminates."
The teams exchanged facts solidifying their position on the given topic with confidence and poise, and showcased their debating prowess to the judges and audience. Unfortunately, the students of The Millennium School were unable to reach the finals.
The prize distribution took place after the event, with JSS Private School, Dubai, winning the rolling trophy.
