IH Hindi Recitation Competition

हिंदी भारतीय संस्कृति की आत्मा हैं।

This translates to “Hindi is the soul of Indian culture”. While India, a secular country, doesn’t have a national language, one can certainly say without hesitation that Hindi is one of the most commonly spoken languages in India. To appreciate this beautiful language, TMS organised an inter-house Hindi poem recitation competition on Thursday, 9th June for grades 3 through 8.

The topic for grade 3 and 4 was “Friends(मित्रों)”. The topic given to grade 5 and 6 was “Seasons (ऋतुएँ)”. Finally, students from grades 7 and 8 were assigned the topic “Sacrifice (त्याग/बलिदान)”.

As our chief guest, we invited Ms. Meena Guleria, a former Hindi teacher of TMS, and Ms. Madhuri, who is from Mumbai, has learnt many Indian languages, like Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil etc. It was pleasant to see students taking up the responsibility of loyally representing their respective houses. Our school heads - Ambika ma’am, Lini ma’am, Shruti ma’am, Rinku ma’am, and Priyanka ma’am - were also present and encouraged the students to continue showing interest in Hindi and other languages around the world. Most importantly, we thank all the teachers, who supported the participants throughout the competition and will help them succeed in the future.
