Family Day at TMS

Inclusion is a virtue that is practiced in earnest at TMS. The feelings of empathy and togetherness are cultivated in the students of TMS at very young ages. An alliance that aids in the fostering of these values is the long-running association of TMS with the Manzil Center. A myriad of activities are planned every Wednesday to help incorporate the students of the Manzil Center in the ongoings of mainstream school life. The Best Buddies Club is another such initiative that promotes the intermingling of pupils from either institution and allows students to form life-long bonds. A much anticipated annual tradition, hosted by the members of the Best Buddies Club, is the TMS Family Day, a day to celebrate old relationships and forge new ones. This year, Family Day took place on Saturday, 20th May.

The event commenced with an assembly to showcase the talents of the members of the club. A choir was conducted and an inclusion dance was performed by the students of TMS along with the students of the Manzil Center. Following the assembly, workshops were set up to engage the families in recreational activities. These workshops included arts and crafts, henna design, and face painting. The jovial atmosphere created by the gathered families helped nurture the connection between the pupils present. Not only was the event successful in strengthening the fellowship shared by members of the club, but it also helped several new families join the association and become members of this incredible organization. Many pupils who had been deprived of meeting their buddies due to the recent pandemic also got to experience the marvel of seeing them for the first time. The festivities resulted in the successful promotion of the values that the Best Buddies club strives to uphold: compassion and camaraderie.
