GWAMUN 2023

The brightest minds in the country gathered at Gems World Academy as it hosted the 4th edition of GWA Model United Nations from 27-29 January, with over 600 students from 50 schools across UAE in attendance. The opening ceremony was made momentous with an opening speech by the guest of honor His Excellency Ban Ki-Moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations, galvanizing the wills of all in attendance with his words of wisdom.

High school students across the UAE represented different countries, tackling various global issues with diplomacy and negotiation in 24 committees during the convention. As they solved unexpected crises, from stolen nuclear technology to the rise of rogue nations, delegates built a deeper understanding of international relations while developing their critical thinking and public speaking skills.

TMS sent a 5-person delegation to the event, with all participants showcasing their leadership abilities and proficiency on their respective agendas. Additionally, Naina Nair won the Best Position Paper award for the International Atomic Energy Agency committee. We congratulate the students for their fantastic performance and dedication!
