Perks of Romanticizing Daily Life.

If you have watched a single Studio Ghibli movie, it is inevitable that you know the meaning of romanticizing your daily life. Whether it be studying, working, cooking or even sitting blankly - anything can be romanticized with a little bit of change in perspective.

With the amount of time we spend online, everyone must have come across the various aesthetics at least once. I'm talking about dark academia, cottagecore, draincore, etc and all of this has sprouted from the idea of romanticization. Even supermarkets are now considered an aesthetic place and an absolute hotspot for photos. Imagine trying to desperately get a pack of toilet paper but you are hindered by some kids having a photo shoot, well, good or bad, it's definitely a story to tell.

But why has it become so?

It lies in the pleasure of taking even the smallest pleasures and enjoying the present.

Our present is such that we are clustered with tragic news, stress and hustle culture. All of this leads to the depreciation of a holistic human experience, and going back to our roots by celebrating the simple things in life can bring us all some joy.

Obviously, this doesn't endorse the romanticization of negative events - such events are meant to be dealt with directly, however, it will definitely help us overcome such situations a bit faster.

As an avid romanticist, I surely suggest the appreciation of tiny pleasures. So the next time you sit to study, why not light a candle, brew yourself a cup of bitter tea and settle into the vibe?
