” It’s hard to beat somebody that never gives up.”
This quote is an apt representation of the Interhouse Football Competition. The grade 11 and 12 boys battled it out on the field to see which house emerged victorious. The first match was between Summer and Autumn, with Summer taking a narrow one-goal win. The next match was between Spring and Winter. This match saw chances at both ends but, in the end, Winter claimed the win. The next game saw the third-place game between Spring and Autumn. This was an even matchup, which resulted in a tight game with Spring sneaking a narrow 1-0 win. The next match was the much-awaited final between Summer and Reigning Champions Winter. From the minute the referee blew his whistle the game was intense, but as time went by, Winter seemed to dominate the game with a water-tight defense and fearsome attacking play with goals from Swaroop Sajeesh and Saurabh sealing the win. They even imitated famous footballer Marcus Rashford’s ‘Mentality’ Celebration showcasing the winning mentality this tight-knit team possessed. This game wrapped up the Inter-House Football competition for the year 2023-2024 with reigning champions Winter House being crowned as the Defending Champions which therefore saw Summer and Spring secure runners-up and 3rd place respectively.
