The Boys Cricket team played in the inaugural ILT20 Schools Cup over the past month. The Millennium School was in the Sharjah Warriors Group and played against the International School of Creative Sciences, Sharjah, and Indian High School on the 14th and 23rd of November respectively in the Sharjah International Stadium
The first game saw TMS dominate throughout the game. Opting to bowl first, TMS restricted the opposition to 87 runs within 20 overs. Gabriel Varughese and Jay Patel picked up 2 wickets a piece. With only 87 to chase our openers made light work of their bowling attack. Star Batsman Shane Saldanha scored an unbeaten 55 of 34 balls, seeing him grab Player of the match. This win saw TMS sit at the top of the table.

The Second game was against the Indian High School. TMS were made to bat first and struggled to put on any runs in the tough conditions. TMS were bowled out for 51 in 20 overs. Coming into bowl, trying to defend a mere 51-run target, TMS bowled and fielded extremely well, with three stunning catches to dismiss their best batsmen. However, this was not enough as IHS chased this target in 13 overs. 20 – 30 more runs on the board would’ve seen TMS walk away with a win. This loss saw TMS out of the competition and hence an end to this tournament.
Despite the sad ending to this tournament, the TMS cricket team has come a long way. This is the last tournament for the grade 12 boys, and they are extremely excited for the next season of cricket as they believe TMS has what it takes to win.
